Title: Two new interviews and other stuff.. I finally got around to publishing two new interviews, which I strongly suggest you check out on the interviews page (or follow the front page links). I must apologize to the developers - I took an awfully long time to publish these and feel terrible about it.
Things have been very slow lately, here at Planet Freeplay. Forces seem to have been working against me of late. My girlfriend was in hospital for a month and a half and had to go back in for another week after coming home for a week and a half. I also had the misfortune of having to change servers, although on the plus side, we are (hopefully) on a much more reliable server now. Unfortunately upon moving everything over, it did screw with some of the text, so I'm currently in the tedious process of going through it all and fixing up errors.
We (that is me, Phantz and another coder) are in the process of overhauling Planet Freeplay from scratch. Better code, pretty web design and a shitload of new features are planned. It will probably be at least another three months before I can give more concrete information on this but there will be a LOT of changes.
That's all for now. Enjoy the interviews.

Title: Stuff, stuff and more stuff.. or maybe just stuff! So there's this new interview on my website with some folks that go by the name of Poke53280 who developed this game called Hurrican. But you probably haven't heard of it and aren't interested so don't read it. No, really... don't! Go on about your business.
It's on the interviews page.

Title: Stuff Just thought I would drop a note and let whoever bothers to read this know what's goin on. In the interest of making Planet Freeplay more about quality and less about quantity, I am trimming the crap from the archives (yes, there are some pretty awful games in the database). I have also started hosting some files. Both of these processes will take time (after all, I am only one guy and I can only do so much).
Longer, more in depth, reviews for some of the more interesting entries may also be added (I have a few written that I haven't added yet). More interviews will also appear from time to time.

Title: New interview.. If you've heard of a game in development called The Underside, which is a brilliant homage to Cave Story, than you might just be interested in an interview with Arthur Lee, the developer. To get the low down, click on the front page link or go to the interviews page. Soak it up!

Title: The latest.. I know it's been a good while since I posted any news here and the site seems to be moving at a slower rate than it once was. Let me fill you in on the latest with what's happening.
There's a new interview link on the front page with Brad Borne, developer of the classic flash Fancy Pants Adventures game. Any fans should definitely check it out. Thanks to Brad for taking the time for the interview.
Some of you may have noticed that we have started hosting some of the freeware game files. I am planning to add as many files as possible as long as I have permission from the authors. Many have given permission already and I thank all that have. I would love to do this with flash games sometime in the future so we will see how things go.
I am also aware that there is a bug on the website. I'll have to round up Phantz asap and get him to fix it. I'm also hoping to do some more interviews in the coming weeks.
That's all for now folks. Take care.

Title: Long time, no news Ok. It's been a while since I posted some news here so I figure maybe I should start doing it a little more regularly. As you may have noticed the pace of the site has slowed quite considerably. A couple of bugs were fixed tonight (hopefully they weren't around for too long) and I always have lots of ideas swimming around in my head on how to change this place. Hosting files is the next major step that we plan to take, although exactly when this will happen I'm not sure. Sooner rather than later (I hope).
I have a couple of interviews planned but unfortunately I lost a couple of opportunities for interviews in the last few months due to personal life stuff. I'm hoping to fix this but life can get mighty busy at times.
I think that about covers it for now - if I think of anything else, I'll be sure to let you know.

Title: A small bit of news: Style Sheet Changer Hi there folks.
We just added another small feature to the site - a style sheet changer. If any of you would like to make a style sheet and submit it to us via e-mail, we may well include it in the official list if we like it. Have fun.

Title: The latest.. Hey folks.
You may notice some more changes to the site. I hope you like them. We like to think our site looks a good deal more professional now. Remember - feedback is always welcome.
Also be sure to check out the brand spanking new interview with the talented Nic DeStefano, creator of the ever popular Lyle in Cube Sector.
That's about it for now guys. Enjoy!

Title: Changes As you may have noticed (for those that regularly visit the site), there have been some fairly major changes in the last few days. First and foremost we have added a section for online games. This has been a plan of mine for quite some time and I hope it enhances the site. I certainly hope it doesn't displease any of the hardcore 'freeware' crowd but I feel that online games are a very important part of the free gaming community and are frequently dismissed and overlooked.
Just a couple of clarifications - the new section works exactly the same as the old one. We do not host games on this site - we are a portal. Also remember that I will not be adding any online game I come across - only the ones that play from start to finish without paying a dime. Other features have been added and some more possibly will - some are big, others a little smaller in scale. Enjoy.

Title: First news post in a long, long time.. Hi folks,
Yeah long time, no new post. I know. So what's news for this site at the moment? We still have an awful lot of features and changes planned. Unfortunately I just don't know how soon these will happen. Fingers crossed for the next few months.
On a more positive note, a new interview with the talented folks at Frictional games has been posted on the site. They were responsible for creating the superb Penumbra survival horror game. If you haven't checked it out already, I recommend you do so.
Games are still being added to the site at a reasonable rate (maybe not quite as fast as they used to be but hey, I'm only one guy).
Anyway that about covers it for now. Enjoy your stay.

Title: Home of the Underdogs currently down. Well.. as some of you may have noticed - the Home of the Underdogs links don't work because it has been down for a few days now. According to a couple of sources it will be back up soon and things will resume as normal.

Title: Another one of those things I like to call an interview.. Hi there all you fine fellows.
Today I have a special surprise for you all - an interview with the ever popular, ever amusing group of guys that make up Ominous Development. For those who don't know, they created a game called unique and addictive game called Strange Attractors. A link to the their website will be put at the bottom of the interview. Be sure to give them a visit. Enjoy!

Title: Finally - 1,000 games reached. Well.. I've finally reached the landmark - 1,000 freeware games. I debated which game to add for the 1,000th game and finally settled on Kenta Cho's excellent shoot 'em up, Gunroar. The website still hasn't been around for a full year since its original conception so this is a very proud achievement for both Phantz and myself.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that if you are a regular visitor of Planet Freeplay and know of any place that would be interested in news like this, feel free to spread the word. We always welcome more visitors.
As far as other news is concerned - not a whole lot to report. Apologies for not releasing the 3rd podcast yet. As stated in the last news post - it has been recorded but it hasn't been released.
As usual, there are more interviews on the way. You'll just have to wait and see who the next one is with.
Enjoy!

Title: Real life, editing and another interview. Hey there folks.
Another new interview - this time with the ever popular folks at Binary Zoo (refer to D U O and mono). Yes that's right folks - the interview is with the WHOLE team. Check it out.
Finally - we HAVE recorded our 3rd podcast. It hasn't been published yet but be assured that it will be as soon as possible.
As the title of this news post suggests, both me and Phantz have been very busy with our real lives. Sometimes it is just hard to make time for some of the things we would like to do. Nonetheless we always do our best. Enjoy!

Title: Finally - some positive news! As you may have noticed - the site hasn't been moving quite as fast as it usually does. This is because of the data loss that occurred some weeks ago. Thankfully all of the 'lost' games have now been restored and I can finally get back to adding some new games again. Look out for more interviews and another episode of our podcast coming soon also.

Title: Podcast Episode 2 released. For those interested, we have released the second episode of our podcast. The show notes are now up. Just go to the podcast section of the website, download and enjoy.

Title: The lost games are coming back! Finally some good news, after all that we have lost. We have gotten back our 'lost' games. At the moment they have no links but I am working through them and re-adding the links. In the coming days, you will see the games counter rising towards its previous level. I will get all of them done as soon as I can. How long it will take, I'm not too sure but I'm hoping not too long. Be patient.

Title: Update on recent problems Well if you are a regular visitor to the website, you will have probably noticed by now that the game count has gone down by a couple of hundred. Unfortunately we could only obtain back-ups of our database, dating back to the 12th of November last year, hence the reason for the sudden drop in games. The others can be recovered from a more recent back-up but they will be without download mirrors until I add them all again. This will happen whenever Phantz has the time to put the others back up, along with he news, reviews and interviews that we lost also. Don't give up on us yet. We're still alive and kicking.

Title: Interviews back up. The interviews are back up for those interested. If you haven't checked out the interview section yet, take a look. There are some pretty decent ones there.

Title: General stuff.. As you may have noticed - we passed 600 games a little while ago. I'll be adding some more very soon so hopefully 700 will loom rather quickly.
You may have also noticed that we have restructered the site in small ways and I have deleted the blog entries - this is basically because:
1. what I had in there was boring
2. the information was only good for my use anyways.
Don't worry - I will be starting the blog again and it will most likely focus on decent online games that I find or just general freeware gaming related things that I can't include on the site.
As you also may have noticed, we finally decided to link to The-Underdogs but please keep in mind that we will ONLY be linking to the FREEWARE gaming pages. We are NOT and never will be an avandonware site. We will not be linking to any of The-Underdogs abandonware pages. It just doesn't fit in with the theme of our site.
Wel that's about it for now - I will update the game soon, although I may be busy fixing up some of the pictures in the meantime.

Title: Coming soon to a website near you.. Ok. Hopefully this will really please some people - I personally think it is some of the best news I've had so far. I have a couple of interviews completed and done for your pleasure. They are not up on the site yet (they will be as soon as possible). Who are they with, I'm sure your wondering.
To be honest, if I'd decided to post this news earlier, I would have gladly kept you all in the dark and made it a surprise - but being the disorganised person that I am I have left it far too long as it is so I'll just come straight out of the bag and say it. I have interviewed the wonderful Robert Kooima (creator of one of the best games I have ever played: Neverball) and Monsterkodi (creator the another one of my favourites: Kiki the Nanobot). I would like to thank both of them immensely for their time and I would also like to apologise for the delay in getting their interviews up on the site.
Look forward to these, coming very, very soon.
Before I forget, we have a new affiliate: Abandonia Reloaded. Let me just say that this site may not be the biggest freeware gaming site on the net but they are by far and away the best quality - their reviews, presentation and website design are second to none.
Aside from this, there isn't an awful lot else to report right now - I will be trying to add some more games as usual so look out for updates in the coming days and weeks.

Title: 500 Games reached with over 1000 links! Finally - my eyes feel like they're gonna fall out and my head is aching like I don't know what but I've cracked the 500 games mark. There will be many more yo come ofcourse so watch this space.

Title: Site changes.. Ok - firstly I'm sure you all have noticed that I reached the 400 games mark not too long ago. The total has been rising a little slower lately due to the fact that one of Caiman's servers is down, hence slowed the momentum I had.
Secondly a Firefox search plugin was added last night. You can find it on the front page, to the right of the search bar. Hopefully you will all make good use of it.
Last but not least, you may have noticed a few changes in the page addresses. This is due to some recoding we did to try and get indexed by Google properly.
And that's about it for the moment. Look forward to more updates coming soon.

Title: Heading towards 200 games. Reached the 180 mark (no milestone by any means) but hopefully we will hit the 200 mark soon.
